Five-eighth Tyrone Roberts will line up in the number six jersey this Saturday afternoon but with Kane Elgey in a position to return from injury, he is still keen to do what is best for the team.

Roberts has played alongside halfback Ash Taylor in the side’s last three victories and says he couldn’t be happier at the moment.

“I’m happy and we’re playing some good footy,” Roberts said. “Ash is going well, as well.

“I think we play best together as we are good mates away from the field. I know when he is down and know how to get him back up. Things are going well.”

Elgey has been named in the extended squad for the match against the Panthers and is a chance of returning this week, either in the NRL side, or through the Intrust Super Cup.

“I’m not too worried (about the decision the Coach makes) as I know whatever decision he makes, it’ll be the best one for the team.

“We’re in a position where we determine our own fate. We need to perform each week, we know we can perform against the best, so we need to execute each week.”

The battle in the halves this week will be one to keep a close eye on with Roberts and Tarlor clashing with Matt Moylan and the in-form Nathan Cleary.

“He’s a great kid (Cleary). He’s growing in confidence so we need to do everything this week to not let him get into the game. We need to stop him.”
