With six games remaining and the equation becoming more difficult to qualify for the finals, fullback Jarryd Hayne has today stated it in pretty simple terms, ‘we need to win every game’.

Hayne scored the opening try in the sides’ 24-16 defeat at the hands of the Panthers on Saturday but gave credit to the home side for the way they controlled the match.

“Credit to the Panthers, they applied enough pressure in the second half and got the win,” Hayne said. “I’m just worried about our charge to the finals and we pretty much need to win them all now.”

Whilst results did go the Titans way over the weekend, the gap to the top eight is now four points and there is simply no room for any further games to be dropped.

“We spoke about the importance of winning last week and going down narrowly last week is disappointing but we need to win them all now. I don’t think a meeting will change anything, we are all aware of what we need to do.

“We need a bit of luck to go our way but we need to win six from six.”

The 30-year-old has shifted between fullback and centre in 2017 and hinted that a similar move may be needed this week after the injury to Konrad Hurrell.

“I’m not too sure at the moment but that’s up to the coaching staff. There are a couple of guys out but that’s something we might not know until captains run.”
