Young forward Morgan Boyle was on hand last Wednesday night to accept his 'Rookie of the Year' award and was over the moon with how his 2017 went personally.

Boyle made 15 appearances this season and has now become a regular member of the NRL side.

"I pretty much thought I'd play just one or two games if someone got injured but Neil gave me the chance to play a few more times than that, so it was good," Boyle said.

The 21-year-old admits that it took him a while to get settled at the top level but now knows how important pre-season training is.

"Probably the speed and toughness of it all. The pre-season I've done the last two years really helped.

"It's been pretty hot this year so it'll be good. I'm looking forward to it."
