Forward Ryan James this morning admitted that a line in the sand had been drawn and the old Titans are simply that, with a new approach being taken into the new pre-season.

James captained the side that finished in 15th position last season and the entire playing group are aware that it simply wasn’t good enough.

“We can’t perform like we did last year and we all know that,” James said. “There was a Titans of old that everyone enjoyed watching and we want to get back to that.

“We have an ownership change coming up, a lot of new faces and other things changing.”

On the first few days of training, the Bilambil junior is also taking a fresh approach.

“It’s great. It’s a new start, plenty of new faces, new staff and it’s a line in the sand.

“It’s a new look Titans and we need to put our best foot forward this year.”

The group started this morning’s session with the dreaded ‘yo-yo’ test and was something that the prop forward had not done before.

“It was a bit different to the previous ones we’ve done but hearing those beeps wasn’t too comforting.”
