John Olive released from Titans contract

The TFH Gold Coast Titans can today confirm the departure of John Olive from his contract with the club.

Olive was originally contracted until the end of season 2018 but an offer to return to Sydney was an offer the 21-year-old could not let go.

The Kingsgrove Colts junior made his debut for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2015, before joining the Titans ahead of season 2016. Olive made his debut for the Titans in Round 1 of 2016 and played nine matches of top-flight rugby league in his two years at the club.

Head Coach Garth Brennan today wished Olive all the best for the future.

“John has been offered an opportunity to return to his home city of Sydney and knowing how he feels when surrounded by family and friends, I didn’t want to stand in his way,” Brennan said.

“He’s still a young kid who could have a long career ahead of him. I wish him all the best for the future.”
