In form Titans halfback Ash Taylor believes the side have taken the right steps forward in the past fortnight but is tackling his contest against champion halfback Cooper Cronk like any other challenge.

The Titans travel to Central Coast stadium for the clash on Saturday afternoon and the Toowoomba product is keen to take on some of the game's best.

A side that brings plenty of star power in James Tedesco, Blake Ferguson, Luke Keary, Cooper Cronk and Dylan Napa just to name a few, is something Taylor believes the whole side should be looking forward to.

"I think you treat it like any challenge," Taylor said. "We know how they play so we just need to compete and take them on as a whole."

And on the challenge against Cronk?

"He'll look a bit different in a Roosters jumper but we need to make sure we put some pressure on him. Their spine is in good form at the moment but this is a good chance for us."

On his on side of the field, Taylor has worked with a new halves partner in AJ Brimson over the past fortnight and is pleased with his continued development and the extra responsibility on him to become a leader.

"I've taken it upon myself and know what it's like for a young bloke to be coming in as I did it myself.

"I told him to come in and mainly run the ball until he got some more confidence. But he's got a good pass and can kick which is good."

Whilst the Titans are coming off a much-needed victory over the Knights, it's the Roosters who will look to come out firing after a last-up loss to the Broncos.

"They'll be hungry. They had a tough loss and they'll be stinging but I think we're capable of handling that."
