Halfback Ash Taylor has praised the development of his halves partner, AJ Brimson, after a man of the match performance last weekend against the Warriors.

Taylor has made it a project of his own to help Brimson more comfortable in the top grade, with the pair working tirelessly together, to ensure they are doing everything they can to run this team.

"He's going great," Taylor said. "He's taking on a bit more responsibility and is also doing a bit more kicking.

"He's stepping up to the plate which is great."

The Toowoomba junior has been critical of his own form of late and after labelling the Round 17 match against the Broncos as the worst of his NRL career, the 23-year-old admits he has been working extremely hard to get his confidence back.

"It was good win last weekend and it definitely makes training a little easier this week but we need to ensure we go down to Sydney with the same attitude.

"My confidence is getting better. That Broncos game was up to standard and I've been working hard, continuing to get better.

"Garth said that last week was our most complete 80 minute performance but we need to back that up on Saturday against the Eels."
