The season didn't end how he would have hoped but centre Dale Copley took a lot of positives out of the opening half of the year that ultimately earned him a contract extension to stay at the club.
The Aspley junior played 13 matches in 2018, scoring five tries and made a solid contribution defensively throughout the year.
"I was pretty happy with my on-field performances but I ended the season not playing which was disappointing and probably overshadowed the on-field performances," Copley said.
"It was a challenge in the pre-season, especially when the club brought Brenko (Lee). With Konrad as well it was a three into two situation and through January it looked as though I might not be there.
"I got my opportunity and I was pretty happy with my contribution."
His season unfortunately came to an end during the Round 17 match against the Broncos when he went down with a hamstring injury that has been a common occurrence throughout his career.
Although no Finals Series action this year, Copley believes the club is headed in the right direction.
"I think so. We were able to give some experience to some young guys and I think we can all say that they performed above our expectations.
"Anytime you can give young guys experience is a positive and it'll help them, and the club, in the future."
