The TFH Gold Coast Titans have added some strike to the outside backs with Jesse Arthars signing with the club, for one year, through until the end of 2019.
Arthars joins the club from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he played for feeder-club, North Sydney Bears, in 2018. Prior to his time in Sydney, the 20-year-old played NYC for Melbourne Storm where he was the competition's highest point-scorer in 2016.
The fullback was born in New Zealand before moving to the Gold Coast with his family as a 12-year-old, going to school at Keebra Park and playing for Runaway Bay and then Helensvale.
"It's exciting for me and my family to be coming back home," he said. "The Gold Coast is home and to be back surrounded by a lot of familiar faces is awesome.
"I spent a lot of time playing Intrust Super Cup this year and I'm looking forward to making that next step.
"It's a really good opportunity for me here and I can't wait to rip in this pre-season."
Coach Garth Brennan is looking forward to working with Arthars.
"Jesse is a young player who has been part of two good rugby league systems and I'm looking forward to seeing how he continues to grow as a player," Brennan said.
"Jesse has the ability to play fullback, centre or wing. He will add some depth and versatility to the Titans squad for 2019."
"I'm sure he'll be hungry to perform well with the hope of achieving his goal of making his NRL debut."
