The Country Under 16 and 18's have come away with a win and a loss after their matches against the Gold Coast Titans this afternoon at Ned Byrne Field, Cudgen.

A hat-trick to Country winger Jake Saunders set-up a strong victory for the Under-16's who were made to work all afternoon by an enthusiastic Titans outfit.

A strong first half saw Country take a 20-0 lead into the break, before wet conditions made it difficult for both sides to convert their scoring opportunities in the second-half.

Second rower Jack Hartwig was inspirational for Country, with his front on defence earning plenty of respect from his opposition.

Halfback Noah Griffiths orchestrated many of Country's attacking opportunities, with his deft kicking game causing plenty of headaches for the Titans defence.

The Country Under-18's were unable to make the most of their attacking opportunities in a tough loss to the Titans, with a last second play just falling short of a memorable victory.

In a hard fought encounter, Country interchange forward Alek Hall turned in a tireless performance, with fullback Zac Rumble and five-eighth Latrell Siegwaldt providing several highlights throughout the match.

Country Rugby League would like to thank the Gold Coast Titans, Cudgen Rugby League Club and all the families and supporters who turned out the support the players in a great afternoon of football for all involved.
