Charities the winner in Magic Round

Round nine of the 2019 NRL season looks set to turn heads as the first ever 'Magic Round' pitches every match in one stadium over a single weekend. Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium will host all eight matches over the course of the weekend with our very own Titans taking on the Sharks in the opening match on Thursday, 9 May.

Opening night, also known as 'Golden Charity Night', will see tickets on sale from $10, with proceeds donated to a charity of the purchaser's choice. Titans partners, Ronald McDonald House SEQ and the Preston Campbell Foundation are two of the available charities that members and fans will be able to donate to.

The Titans' are lucky enough to be long-time supporters of Ronald McDonald House SEQ and to have our very own Jarrod Wallace as an official ambassador. Jarrod and the rest of the organisation actively participate in a number of initiatives run in collaboration with Ronald McDonald House SEQ aimed at providing accommodation and support for seriously ill or injured children and their families.

Club legend Preston Campbell will also have the Preston Campbell Foundation represented at the Golden Charity Night. Preston is a previous Dally M medal winner and played a total of 103 matches over five years with the Titans. Preston is also known and respected for his contributions away from the football field. In 2008 he was awarded the Ken Stephen Memorial Award for his outstanding contributions to the local community.

Shortly after his retirement from the NRL, Preston established the Preston Campbell Foundation which aims to develop programs that inspire participants to achieve their dreams across a range of aspects. The foundation maintains a focus on; training programs which develop participants employability skills, education, and mental health and well-being programs.

The Titans are proud to back both of these programs as we look to represent them proudly at the inaugural Magic Round. We also encourage our supporters who will be attending the opening night to show their support for these organisations by selecting either organisation to receive the proceeds from their ticket sale.
