2019 is underway with the first week of training for the new year now in the bank.

Brennan called his troops in early with a Saturday morning testing session put on to make sure the players didn't indulge too much over the Christmas and New Year period.

The Coach was impressed with how the group presented, with all showing signs that they looked after themselves.

"They have returned in good shape," Brennan said.

"They came back on Saturday to blow the cobwebs out with some testing but we wanted to start today nice and fresh.

"Testing was good, it shows the guys kept themselves in good shape which is pleasing."

After his time away with the New Zealand squad, experienced back rower, Kevin Proctor, arrived back at training and was extremely impressed with how the squad looked in their training.

"It was good to meet all the new guys and new staff. Everyone looks like they're flying at the moment," he said.

"It seems like a breath of fresh air and they have been getting the most out of the boys. They look fit as."

The week consisted of getting plenty of kilometres back in the legs and also saw an increased focus on football with a lot of intensity during the field sessions.
