Titans hooker Nathan Peats has shown extraordinary emotion and an insight into the unique bond that exists between the Gold Coast playing group by fighting back tears as he presented his friend and teammate Bryce Cartwright with the second-rower’s milestone 100th NRL game jersey.

Peats was asked by the coaching staff to present the jersey to Cartwright, with the pair solidifying a bind over summer when Cartwright trained with Peats to get himself prepared for the season ahead.

Normally an ice-man on the field, Peats struggled to contain his emotions in front of his teammates, as this exclusive video for Titans Members shows.

Cartwright was clearly stunned by the emotion of Peats’ presentation, and spoke warmly about embracing his move to the Titans, and his love for the club and his teammates.

But he also added a bit of humour into the occasion, telling Peats: “I knew we were close, but I didn’t think we were that close!”
