Gold Coast’s most experienced player, fullback Michael Gordon, had the honour of welcoming the newest Titan to the fold, presenting Kallum Watkins with his jersey ahead of his NRL debut.
Any player’s debut is celebrated accordingly at the Titans, but few have carried as much anticipation as that of Watkins, the former Leeds Rhinos captain, three-time premiership winner, and 25-Test veteran for England.
After a month waiting for his visa clearance, Watkins finally makes his debut at right centre against the Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday, becoming the 149th player to pull on the Titans jersey.
