Titans co-captain Kevin Proctor has issued an impassioned plea to the club's members and supporters not to give up on the team as the threat of a widespread player cleanout looms large.
The Titans' social media accounts were bombarded by disillusioned fans in the aftermath of a 58-6 loss to the Sydney Roosters on Sunday that Proctor himself admits was humiliating.
The 58 points was the most any Titans team has conceded in club history and the 52-point defeat just two points shy of equaling their worst loss.
In the wake of the sacking of coach Garth Brennan the team has shown next to no response, conceding a total of 130 points in heavy defeats to the Storm, Broncos and Roosters in successive weeks.
If the sacking of Brennan didn't elicit a positive reaction and then interim coach Craig Hodges thought the mid-week announcement of Justin Holbrook as head coach for the next two years may have, the opening minutes of the Roosters embarrassment proving otherwise.

With just five games remaining, the 2019 Titans are on track to be the worst-performing team in the club's history.
In a letter to members issued on Monday night, Proctor pleaded for fans to remain loyal.
"As a playing group, we were humiliated, embarrassed and appalled at the result and the way that we played as a team," Proctor said.
"I don't have any explanation for why the game panned out the way it did.

"Supporting the Titans is supposed to be a source of pride and passion. But we players know that there has been very little to be proud about this season and even less so on Sunday.
"We have five weeks left in this season to redeem ourselves and repay the faith and patience of our members and fans by showing the true character of this team and the pride of the individual players that are in it.
"It has been a hard year, and you deserve better than the results we have delivered.
"And we're sorry. We will not give up. We hope that you will not give up on us."
On Monday the Titans also confirmed that forwards Shannon Boyd (shoulder surgery) and Keegan Hipgrave (concussion) have played their last games for the season while there are doubts that Dale Copley and Michael Gordon will also return from injury in 2019.

Inspirational lock forward Jai Arrow, fullback AJ Brimson and captain Tyrone Roberts are all expected to be named to face the similarly struggling Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Following his return from two months out of the NRL Ash Taylor was underwhelming against the Roosters and received some words of advice from his opposite number Cooper Cronk after full-time.
"For him to get better, I would've liked to have seen, for example, when he kicked the ball and didn't find touch, he needs to get down there and make three or four tackles," Cronk told Fox League.
"Show that you want to make up for it, that these errors aren't OK. It's just your response to errors you'd like to see Ash Taylor improve in."
