Phillip Sami claims back-to-back wins in Titans Try of the Year Award

Titans winger Phillip Sami grabbed plenty of headlines for stopping a try against the Storm in Round 23, but he showed he is no slouch in scoring them himself with his second successive win in the Titans Try of the Year Award.

“Flying Phil” produced one of the plays of the season when he hit 36km/h in an heroic chase of Melbourne’s Josh Addo-Carr at AAMI Park last month, roping in the NRL’s fastest man and preventing what seemed a certain try.

But Sami entrenched his position as one of the game’s best finishers this season, with six tries in 15 games for the Titans – and a second successive trophy for the Titans Try of the Year.

Congratulations Phil!
