While the summer slog continues for the Titans at Parkwood, the recently re-signed Phillip Sami is excited for pre-season to ramp up as the playing group enters its second month of training.

The entire full-time training squad returned to training on 4 November, and while the players have been tested physically and mentally since their return, rumours are building around the laying group that the intensity of preparations for the 2020 season are about to go to the next level.

“It’s been really good,” Sami said of the training changes under new Head Coach, Justin Holbrook.

“We’ve been focusing on the fundamentals of the game, the basic skills and plays.

“The little things have been a big focus for us, and we’re enjoying it.

“It’s about doing all the little things right.”

The Goodna junior has noticed a lot of changes to this pre-season after the introduction of a new-look coaching staff.

“The coach has his own style and he has been really good,” Sami said.

“All the players are just ripping in for the coaching staff, and ripping in for the player next to us, which is most important.

“I think from next week we will ramp it up, and hopefully we go flying into 2020.”
