Titans coach Justin Holbrook has named a close-to-full-strength squad for Saturday’s final trial against the Broncos at Dolphin Stadium, with new recruit Sam Lisone coming straight into the starting team in the front row.
Lisone, who has joined the Titans from the Warriors for the 2020 season, will start in the front row alongside Origin star Jarrod Wallace and Nines captain Mitch Rein, who has beaten Nathan Peats and Erin Clark for the first crack at the No.9 jersey.
With AJ Brimson (back), Shannon Boyd (shoulder) and Moeaki Fotuaika (knee) being held back for precautionary reasons ahead of Round 1, Phillip Sami will move to fullback, with Anthony Don and new recruit Jonus Pearson creating a new combination in the back-three.
In an extended 22-man squad, new faces Jaimin Jolliffe, Erin Clark and Greg Leleisiuao will continue to push for berth in the squad to meet Canberra in Round 1 from the interchange bench.
The experienced Tyrone Roberts has recovered from an ankle injury picked up while playing in the All-Stars match to reunite with Ash Taylor in the halves.
