New Titan Corey Thompson will come straight into the starting team for the Gold Coast’s clash with the Dragons at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

Thompson, who only arrived at the Club on Monday, will become Titan No.156 when he takes the field against the Dragons after impressing coach Justin Holbrook enough to force his way into a backline missing Dale Copley (ankle).

The 30-year-old former Tiger will bring energy and experience to a Titans line-up looking for their second win of the year, and on-guard against a resurgent Dragons team that broke through for their maiden win last weekend.

Copley’s withdrawal has seen Brian Kelly slide across into the centres, with Phillip Sami moving back to the wing after deputising at fullback.

They are the only changes to the team that fought valiantly in last weekend’s loss to South Sydney, with the Titans able to turn the tide after a disappointing first half to hold the Rabbitohs to 6-all in the second half.

Rookie forward Beau Fermor has again been named on an extended interchange bench for the Titans, and will be hoping to push through for his NRL debut.
