NRL Fans' Poll: Holbrook Voted Top 3 Best Coaches in the League for 2020

Gold Coast Titans Coach Justin Holbrook has been voted as the second best coach in the league for 2020, according to the NRL’s 2020 Fan’s Poll.

Held in conjunction with The Courier Mail and the Daily Telegraph, Holbrook finished behind Panthers Coach Ivan Cleary with fans acknowledging the Titans rise up the NRL ladder this season.

Clearly received 30 percent of the vote after leading the Panthers to the minor premiership, with Holbrook taking 14 percent of the vote to finish ahead of Melbourne’s Craig Bellamy, New Zealand’s Todd Payten and Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson.

The Titans finished the season with five-straight wins, equalling the club record.

Holbrook, joining the side after guiding St Helens to the English Super League title last season, took the Titans from 16th on the ladder in 2019 to 9th in 2020.

He also oversaw the rise of rookie’s including halfback Jamal Fogarty and prop Jaimin Jolliffe and the return to form of experienced players like Ash Taylor and Jarrod Wallace.

The Titans coach will have further firepower at his disposal in 2021 with David Fifita, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Herman Ese’ese to join the Club.
