The Gold Coast Titans may not be playing in the NRL Grand Final but they will have one former representative that the club will watch with pride – Amy Shark.

As the main act for the NRL’s pre-game entertainment, Shark will take centre stage before the Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers do battle.

Shark started out working in the Titans digital and community team before embarking on her highly successful music career.

It is not just Shark hitting the heights with another former Titan in Jake Duke now forging a successful career working with Wide World of Sports and Channel 9 in Sydney.

Duke got the opportunity to interview Shark (see video above) in a nice moment showcasing just some of the talent that has come out of the Titans organisation over the last 14 years.

Earlier this week NRL Chief Executive Andrew Abdo was also glowing in his praise of Shark.

“Amy’s career has sky-rocketed in recent years and she is now one of Australia’s most popular artists. Having Amy as our pre-game entertainment is a tribute to the success of a talented Australian artist who is also part of the rugby league family.” Abdo said.

“We are always looking for opportunities to celebrate Australian talent. Amy Shark is an Australian artist with a global following.  Her live performance will provide the perfect build-up to the biggest and most exciting game of the season.”

Amy Shark’s latest single ‘C’mon’  feat. Travis Barker will be released on October 23, two days before the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.

“The single was written about the highs and lows that come with being a musician, something our players can certainly relate to as professional athletes,” Mr Abdo said.

“For her to perform that single on Grand Final day will be a great tribute to all our players and fans who sacrificed so much in 2020 to get us to our Grand Finals.

“Grand Finals Day in 2020 will be a day of celebration, unity and saying thank you for all those who came together to keep the game going this year. Amy’s performance will be an important part of that.”

There is no word yet on who Shark will be supporting this Sunday, but the Titans will certainly be a club celebrating her performance.
