The Titans finished with a Club record equalling five-straight wins to end the year and forcing his way into the starting side to be part of that run was back-rower Sam Stone.
After playing three games up to round 12, Stone returned to the Gold Coast starting side in round 15 against the Raiders.
The 23-year old held his spot to be part of wins against the Dragons, Bulldogs, Broncos, Sea Eagles and Knights and by year end had become an important part of Coach Justin Holbrook’s side.
“Stoney is just a great hard working, honest guy,” Holbrook said.
The Burleigh junior has re-signed for the 2021 season and will look to continue his strong form into the new year.
“He is a proven first grader and NRL player and it’s great that we’ve been able to extend him and keep him at our Club next year,” Holbrook said.
“He’s still only 23-years-old so he is going to improve a lot.
“It’s great for our Club that Stoney is continuing with us.”
Across his nine appearances in 2020, Stone scored three tries and averaged 38 tackles per game.
