Titans hooker Mitch Rein is prepping for a big off-season as he looks to make the number nine jersey his own in 2021.
With competition for hooking spots, the 30-year-old finished the year as incumbent and his form over the back end of the season correlated with the Titans run of five straight wins to finish the year.
Rein played nine times for the Gold Coast in 2020, scoring two tries and averaging 40 tackles per game.
Battling injury through the middle of the season, Rein shone in his return, forcing his way back into Justin Holbrook’s starting side for the Round 16 clash against the Dragons.
After six seasons at St George Illawarra and a year at Penrith, Rein will enter his fourth season at the Titans after joining the club in 2018.
The Kiama product was named as captain of the Titans side for the NRL Nines competition in 2020 and will again be a leader amongst the younger players during the pre-season.
As the Club chases a record breaking sixth straight win to start the year, Rein says the team have a simple focus.
“We just want to play good for our supporters and fans and make our family proud.”
