The Gold Coast Titans high performance team has been bolstered with experience ahead of the 2021 NRL season.

Klint Hoare joins the side as High Performance Manager and says it is an honour to take the role with the Club.

“It comes after many years working in the NRL,” Hoare said.

“I’ve worked with the referees as the Head of Performance for ten years, and then I moved into the Cronulla Sharks for 2013 and 14 and then worked with Canberra and alongside their feeder club (the Mounties).”

Klint will be joined in the high performance team by Steve Hooper, who adds plenty of NRL experience having previously worked with the Wests Tigers, North Queensland Cowboys and Brisbane Broncos.

“Steve is really experienced and has also worked with the Australian Kangaroos with Mal (Meninga),” Hoare said.

“He’s been involved with the Wests Tigers for the last three years and he has an extensive background in strength and conditioning.

“We’ve also got Joel Grech who has stepped up as an assistant in strength and conditioning with the NRL side and he will still look after our junior pathways.

“And we’ve also got Emma (Russo), our sports scientist, who is a whiz behind the scenes and without her we wouldn’t get the program rolling how it has been.”

Under the guidance of the high performance team and the Titans coaching staff lead by Justin Holbrook, pre-season for the majority of the NRL squad has resumed with senior and representative players to join the team in coming weeks.
