Jaimin Jolliffe is back on the training paddock and he’ll have a few Titans team-mates join him before Christmas.

Titans Head of Performance Klint Hoare says that the squad is in good shape as pre-season begins, with the news around injuries looking positive.

“Jaimin is coming off that syndesmosis injury (sustained in Round 17 against Canterbury) and he is 11 weeks post,” Hoare said.

“We introduced him into the NRL squad as of Monday and we will manage his load but he is flying.”

David Fifita has joined Jolliffe on-field but is still a week or two off returning to full training.

“David is doing really well,” Hoare said.

“He is on the back end of his rehab program and he’s starting to do some field running.

“We should see him re-introduced into some skills components probably within the next two weeks.”

On the back of ankle surgery post-season, Jai Whitbread is also back running.

“Jai is in the back two weeks of his rehab running and he’ll start to enter the squad in those last two weeks before Christmas.”

Ash Taylor will be the next to return, with the five-eighth recovering well from off-season surgery on his hips and wrist.

“He’s trying to get range of motion in the wrist but he is now being re-introduced into the squad in regards to weights and also doing the altitude chamber,” Hoare said.

“He probably won’t be back into full training until post-Christmas but we are really happy with his progress and he’s been really positive with his attitude towards the rehab.”

After a stunning debut for Queensland in Origin 1, AJ Brimson is also tracking well for a pre-season return and is on target for round one.

“AJ is a week post-surgery for the Lisfranc injury and he is tracking along really well,” Hoare said.

“The surgeon was really confident that they’ve been able to fix that issue, but obviously it is only one week post and he won’t be returning to probably January next year for full training.”
