Kevin Proctor has been around the NRL for a long time.

The 31-year-old is preparing for a 14th NRL season and his fifth year in a Titans jersey.

Not one to buy into headlines or hype, Proctor says the best way to tell how a football Club is heading as a new season looms is to get a feel from the local community.

"Even in the off-season, we've got random people coming up to us and saying "good luck next year, all the best, we're really excited to watch you play" and that's getting us excited as players," Proctor said.

After a strong finish to 2020 with five straight wins, Proctor says people can sense that the playing group are building a culture that will lead to success.

"One of our goals last year was to try and make the community proud and to make them proud of wearing their Titans jersey," Proctor said.

"This off season I've really noticed that.

"The way we finished the back end of last season I suppose gave the community hope.

"That's what's most exciting for me, to watch young kids wearing Titans jerseys with Brimson or Fifita on the back.

"It's really exciting and it is good to see the community getting behind us.

"We love seeing people wearing their Titans jerseys and being proud to be Titans Members.

"During my time here, I haven't recognised as much hype as there is about this season coming up.

"It makes us feel good and it makes us excited for this year as well."
