"He's extraordinary," Titans Chairman Dennis Watt says when asked to talk about Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM.

Dr Palipana is the co-founder of Doctors with Disabilities Australia, senior resident at Gold Coast University Hospital, and is the 2021 Queensland Australian of the Year.

He volunteers his time as the doctor for the Titans Leagueability programs, helping with the Club's physical and intellectual disability teams.

"Everything he does is just about helping others," Watt said.

"He's inspiring."

Dr Palipana is the first quadriplegic medical graduate and medical intern in Queensland.

He joined the Titans in 2020 and has quickly become a big supporter of what the Club is doing in the inclusion space.

"Dinesh is a wonderful advocate for us in the community," Watt said.

"He's a great supporter of the Club and to have him volunteer his time to help us is incredible.

"To learn about how hard he has had to fight from his accident to get himself through his studies, then hearing him talk about spending hours in the morning getting ready to work and then doing long stints in the hospital and then finding time for research - it's remarkable.

"As a Club we're thrilled that he has been recognised for all of the work he does and want to congratulate him on his nomination as Australian of the Year."
