Holbrook says Titans determined to make Gold Coast proud

Titans Coach Justin Holbrook says his team is determined to make the region proud with their performances and says he's pleased that there was plenty for Titans fans to cheer in round five.

In front of a strong crowd at Cbus Super Stadium, the Titans attack was on-song as the home side ran in eight tries in a 42 points to 16 win against the Newcastle Knights.

It was just the second game on the Gold Coast for the Titans in 2021, with a 28 points to 16 win against the Broncos in round two the other result.

After having to move a home clash against the Canberra Raiders to Sydney because of COVID-19, Holbrook said his side were determined to put in a good performance in front of a home crowd.

"We had our best win ever up against the Cowboys in Townsville and we were all excited to come back home and then we had to move our home game which was tough," Holbrook said.

"To get our next opportunity (which was against the Knights) it is important.

"The region loves rugby league, but they're relying on us to make sure they come out.

"A performance like that was important for everyone at our club and hopefully the region continues to get behind us and come out in even bigger numbers when we play Souths in a couple of weeks.

The Titans will host South Sydney in the NRL's Anzac Round, with the two teams to clash at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday 23rd April.
