It was a tough day at the office for the Gold Coast Titans in Mudgee, but one man continues to deliver no matter the opposition. Corey Thompson.
The Titans may have gone down 36-0 but the flyer was again a shining light, as he has been all season.
Leading the run metres for his side for the fourth time in six matches this season, Thompson proved to be his usual, energetic self.
At the time of writing, Thompson is second in the league on run metres to only the Panthers Brian To'o, with 1,137 metres run for the Titans this season.
Thompson has always been a fan favourite at previous clubs, the Wests Tigers and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, and he is again earning that status amongst the Titans faithful with his 100% efforts week on week.
Head Coach Justin Holbrook has consistently rewarded effort at the Titans since his arrival and players such as Thompson, Jaimin Jolliffe and Erin Clark have shone as a result.
Thompson's 2021 season is no different, with a big pre-season seeing him keep State of Origin winger Phil Sami out of first grade for the early rounds.
And he hasn't let his coach down since.
If there is a Titans 3, 2, 1 vote for each game, Thompson will have polled in all six matches so far.
With Queensland State of Origin team light on outside backs, they could do worse than to look at the veteran.
One thing Paul Green could be assured of, is Corey Thompson will give his all - it is the only way he knows how.
