Thompson to have scans on ankle

Gold Coast Titans winger Corey Thompson will head for scans on an injured left ankle.

The Titans most consistent player in 2021 had been in sublime form over the opening seven rounds of the season before suffering an ankle injury in the 42nd minute of the local derby with the Broncos.

After being tackled, Thompson's ankle got awkwardly caught up as Xavier Coates went in for a second effort to push him back to the ground.

Fans of the Titans, and Queenslanders alike, will be hoping for a positive result and only a short stint on the sidelines.

Such had been the form of Thompson a campaign of 'Corey for Queensland' had begun.

Further updates will be shared via titans.com.au once results are available.
