Prop knows the importance of a firing against Dragons

With just seven games left in the regular season, Jarrod Wallace says the Titans know they can't wait to make a run to the finals - it has to start now.

Over the next three weeks, the Titans play the Dragons, Bulldogs and Cowboys.

The 30-year-old prop says if the Gold Coast team can string those wins together, than they'll be in a good position heading into the last month of football.

"I definitely think this weekend is a very, very important game," Wallace said.

"They're four points in front of us and if they were to win it takes them six points ahead and makes it harder and harder for us.

"They've been playing some good footy and Benny Hunt is in fantastic form so we need to be ready to go.

"We need to make sure we get the ball rolling because if we want to play finals footy it definitely starts this week for us."

Wallace says the Titans have prepared well this week ahead of the round 19 clash, but knows that they must back up the good week of training with a "switched on" performance against St George Illawarra.

"We play in the NRL, the toughest game in the world, and if you're not on on the day then anything can happen," Wallace said.

"Last week we thought we trained well and did everything and then Parramatta came and pulled out pants down.

"We need to make sure we are mentally prepared for a Dragons side that is going pretty good."

The match, originally scheduled to be played in Sydney, will now be at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast after the re-location of southern teams.

The Dragons will be the "home" team for the round 19 clash which kicks off at 1:50pm on Sunday.
