Player in focus: Corey Thompson

As the Gold Coast Titans aim for four-straight wins, this week the Macca's player in focus is winger Corey Thompson.

The 31-year-old has been among the Titans best in 2021 and his consistency has seen him put together a season of strong performances.

On Saturday, he'll look to continue his strong form in a mouth-watering match-up against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Last time the two sides met, the Rabbits took the win, but Thompson put on a show.

Thompson is averaging 167 running metres per game in 2021, and has seven tries to his name.

After joining the Titans in 2020, Thompson has become a fan favourite and has extended his stay on the Gold Coast by adding another year to his contract earlier this season meaning he will remain a Titan until the end of 2023.

Thompson has 67 tackle breaks and 11 line breaks this season, highlighting how dangerous and evasive that he can be with ball in hand.

He's now gone four games without a try and after starting the year with a run of four pointers, he'll be looking to add another to his tally with a strong performance against the Rabbitohs.

His energy and effort cannot be questioned and has been on show right across season 2021.

He's arguably in the best form of his career and there is a good chance that he will again be among the Titans best on Saturday.

Keep your eye on Corey Thompson, our player in focus for Round 22.
