Titans lock up Hancock, Peters and Evolve Legal for NRLW campaign

The Gold Coast Titans have today added players 21 and 22 to the foundation NRLW squad, along with a key partner in Evolve Legal.

Building out the Titans' engine room through the acquisition of women's rugby league legend Stephanie Hancock and Queensland State of Origin representative Rona Peters, the Titans side wont be lacking muscle on the field.

Off it, Evolve Legal have joined as a foundation partner and will take up the lower back position on the side's first ever playing strip.

Hancock said the opportunity to be a part of the Titans foundation side was one she couldn't go past.

"Having an opportunity to be apart of a new NRLW club in Queensland along with the respect and admiration I have for Rebecca Frizelle (Titans Co-Owner) she has been such a powerful influence on and off the field in the Women’s game for so many years," Hancock said.

"This opportunity gives me a chance to show my gratitude to Rebecca, the Titans and the game."

Hancock says she will bring experience and accountability to the youthful Titans side.

"I’ve been privileged to play footy for 18 seasons and have been coached by some legendary coaches, played alongside some of the greats in the women’s game and the knowledge and professionalism that has been instilled in me I now have the opportunity to share that with the younger playing group at the Titans," she said."

Hancock, who is a Police Officer by day, isn't the only re-enforcements joining the Titans with Evolve Legal coming on as a foundation partner of the NRLW side.

"Our involvement with the Titans is an alignment that our firm has long had our eyes on," Evolve Legal's Practice Leader Anna Morgan said.

"The team's longstanding values, diversity inclusion, and overall dominance within the Gold Coast community are one to admire, and the team here at Evolve Legal are excited about the foreseeable journey.

Anna explained that "Evolve Legal has grown to be a key Personal Injury practice here on the Gold Coast, stemming from the leading commercial firm Ramsden Lawyers. Since 2003, our team have supported numerous teams, charities and initiatives, believing that community integration is the true embodiment of what it means to be a GC local."

The third piece of the puzzle announced today is the signing of Rona Peters.

Peters is a six-time Queensland Maroons representative who started her career in the halves before transitioning into the forwards.

The Kiwi-born Queenslander now ply's her trade for the Tweed Heads Seagulls in the BHP Premiership - an affiliate to the Titans.

Titans CEO, Steve Mitchell said all three acquisitions were another strong step in the right direction for the foundation Titans side.

"We have a young and exciting squad filled with x-factor talent but these two individuals bring the type of experience you need to be competing for premierships," Mitchell said.

"For the club to add the quality of Rona and Stephanie to our side, on top of what we already have, is going to provide some strong leadership for the young talent we have coming through the systems.

"We are really excited about what is building with our NRLW side and pleased that we can welcome a partner like Evolve Legal to be a part of this journey with us.

"The synergy between our values is something that the club prides itself on and we look forward to having them as a part of our Titans family."
