Patrick Herbert loving right edge combination with Thompson

Titans centre Patrick Herbert says he is really enjoying playing beside his edge partner Corey Thompson.

When asked about his growing combination with Thompson, Herbert said he is loving the energy and experience the veteran winger brings.

“It’s great to feed off someone like [Corey] because he is always talking to you and that makes my job a lot easier,” Herbert said.

Herbert has averaged over 100 running metres per game this season and has 12 try involvements to his name. When asked about his recent form, Herbert said he has benefited from his teammates playing well.

“It comes off the back of the other players doing their jobs well. It allows you to narrow your focus onto your own job and invest everything you’ve got.”

With this week’s elimination final against the Roosters fast approaching, Herbert believes attention to detail will be the key to victory for his side.

Overlaps on the shortside for Herbert

“They’re one of those teams that do all the little things right,” he said.

“They’re just hard workers and they always turn up at the end of the day.

“We need to do all the one percenters right.”

When asked what it means to play for the Gold Coast, Herbert said it is a proud moment and he hopes to represent the Coast well.

“To be here with the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast family, it’s really special and the community is behind us,” he said.

“The crowd that turned up for our previous game against the Warriors, it just shows how proud they are of us and I’m proud to be representing them.”

The Titans will take the field this Saturday at 5:40pm against the Sydney Roosters. The game, to be played at Townsville, will be the first of two elimination finals this weekend.
