"F-Troop" firing Titans future success

The Gold Coast Titans "F-Troop" of Fa'asuamaleaui, Fotuaika and Fifita are keen to build on their combination over the pre-season as the three young forwards look to a big 2022 season.

In his first season on the Gold Coast, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui claimed the Paul Broughton Medal acknowledging him as the Titans best.

In his first season at the club, David Fifita scored 17 tries in 22 appearances – more than any other Titans player.

Not just that, but his 17 tries are the most by any forward this season, 5 more than runner-up Roosters backrower Sitili Tupouniua on 12.

Meanwhile Moeaki Fotuaika again put in a consistent season that saw him top the club's running metres, finishing second to Fa'asamaleaui in the Broughton Medal count.

All three are just 21-years-old and are determined to bring the Titans long-term success.

Fa'asuamaleaui says while Fotuaika can often go under the radar, his efforts deserve praise.

"He is just so good each week ... he is consistent each week and does the best that he can for the team," he said.

"He does all of the little efforts that nobody sees and I love playing alongside him."

Fa'asuamaleaui says he's enjoyed his first year at the Titans and is looking forward to further building combinations over the pre-season.

"I think just debuting for the club (was my highlight)," he said.

"I was so excited to come here and even though we didn't win, it was great to debut for the club.

"Some of the past players that have been here are some of the greats, so it is good.

"The first year playing with all of the boys, I've settled in well and I just can't wait for next year and to improve on a lot of things.

"I'm excited just to get into pre-season and start working on the things that we need to work on.

"There are exciting things ahead ... we are a young crew and I think we can do a lot of things in the future."
