Beau Fermor has quite literally hit pre-season running.

In his first week back on the paddock, the 23-year-old backrower topped the time trial.

For anyone that has followed Fermor’s career, it will come as no surprise that the Dalby junior was topping a fitness test.

Fermor is known as one of the best trainers and fittest in the Titans squad.

However, after an off-season that was slightly different to usual, he surprised himself with that first-up effort.

“I got married, had my honeymoon and bucks so it was a pretty busy off-season,” Fermor said.

“I surprised myself really (being the quickest in the time trial).

“I didn’t do as much training as I normally do because I had all of the things on but I did enough to get myself by obviously.”

2021 was Fermor’s second at the Gold Coast Titans and his second in the NRL after making his debut in the season prior.

After managing eight games in 2020, he great that tally to 15 games in the 2021 season and had fought his way into the starting side.

He says the next goal is to cement that starting backrow position.

“Obviously (my goal) is to cement my spot in the backrow and keep playing well,” Fermor said.

“More importantly as a team focus it is to make sure we are going deep into a finals series and doing everything that we can do be a consistent and successful team.”

Fermor says there is a good feeling among the squad who are determined to bring success to the Gold Coast.

He says all the players have returned in good condition and a big pre-season is beckoning.

“It’s good to see all of the young boys that have been ripping in for a couple of weeks now,” he said.

“To get back training and get our testing done, all of the boys have come back looking good, it is good to get back into the routine again.”
