2022 recruit Will Smith has joined Titans pre-season and says he is ready to compete for positions this year.

The former Parramatta Eels utility is the last piece of the Titans pre-season puzzle, with all squad members now back at training.

“Today was about just getting used to the place, learning from the boys and seeing their plays - it’s been a good first day.“

When asked why he decided to sign with the Titans, Smith said it was the opportunity to team up with Titans players that appealed to him most.

“Once I saw the Titans roster and the people they were recruiting you know, Isaac Liu, young Dave Fifita as well, Tino (Fa'asuamaleaui) – I was just excited to join the team that Titans are starting to build.

“The way they played that day [against the Roosters in the Finals] and the way they finished that game, I knew how much they wanted to win. Seeing that, I knew the type of belief they must have amongst themselves and I want to be a part of that.”

Having played in the halves, at fullback, centre, and hooker during his NRL career, Smith says he is ready to train hard and earn his spot in the top 17.

“I’m willing to push for any position.

“I think you just have to train hard, put your best foot forward for the team and work hard for your mate, and things will just come off the back of that.”
