Future Titans join forces with NRL squad

The next wave of Titans talent got a taste of the big time earlier this week as the Future Titans joined the NRL squad for a training session on Monday afternoon at the club's training ground in Parkwood.

Future Titans identifies the next crop of youngsters between the ages of 14 and 19 years old, who have the opportunity to progress through to the NRL ranks and play along side current stars such as Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and David Fifita.

Titans Elite Player Development Manager Jamie McCormack said days like Monday are really important in the junior players' development.

"It is a chance for these young men to train along side NRL players and understand what level they need to get to if they want to take the next step to the NRL," McCormack said.

"There are players in the NRL squad now like Jayden Campbell, AJ Brimson and Toby Sexton who have come through our systems and sat in the shoes of this group of Future Titans.

"The club has aligned its pathways in recent years meaning more local kids can stay and play for their Gold Coast team and seeing guys like AJ and Toby progress shows a real pathway."

There were over 90 Future Titans, NRL players and coaches at Mondays session and Head Coach Justin Holbrook said sessions like the one held this week are an important building block for the club.

"We want everyone to feel apart of the Titans, so days like this are integral for our next generation to have access to the NRL squad and see their own path forward.

"The Titans community great to see players of all level training together and learning off one another, and I think it shows where the club is at and where we are looking to head in the future.

So was the next AJ Brimson on Toby Sexton on the park on Monday? Only time will tell.
