Holbrook: They have got more intent about what they are doing

As the Christmas break draws near, Justin Holbrook has expressed his pleasure with the way his side have attacked the first part of pre-season 2022.

While the squad will train up to and including this Thursday, the Titans leader has been impressed with the intent of his troops and called out a couple of players in particular for their attitudes and fitness so far.

"It's been good (pre-season). Obviously the boys are training hard as expected and I think everyone is also looking forward to the break," Holbrook said.

"We train up until Thursday so it is still a few days to go and the boys have been really committed to their training and we have a short break over Christmas and that is when it gets fair dinkum.

"Phillip Sami has really come back flying at training, which is great, and Jayden Campbell is doing a really good job - I am really happy with a lot of the guys.

"Big Herman Ese'ese has done a great job, he has got himself fit and firing."

Very competitive by nature, Holbrook isn't about to let his side rest on their laurels though, with the heartbreak of the 2021 finals series providing good motivation for the team in pre-season.

"The way we finished the season was exciting in one way because we made the final, but really dissapointed about how we finished in another, but they (the players) have really got more intent about what they are doing and a big credit to playing group because of that," Holbrook said.

"Obviously I've been here a couple of years now and the staff are great and you feel a bit more settled the longer you are here, so I am happy with how everything is going."
