'Super Saturday' at Burleigh beckons for Future Titans

Generation next will be on display as the Gold Coast Titans host 'Super Saturday' at Pizzey Park, Burleigh tomorrow afternoon.

The Club's Future Titans program will be put to the test as five matches of footy showcasing the next wave of Titans talent take on representative teams from across the region and a junior Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs side.

With matches across 16s, 17s, 18s and 19s age groups there is no doubt you will see a number of these young men lining up for the Titans' NRL side in the coming seasons.

As the NRL side's pre-season draws to a close, it has been a first for many of the young men on display tomorrow.

2021 Australian Schoolboys Ryan Foran, Jack Cullen and Tom Weaver all spent time in the NRL squad during pre-season with Weaver now a full-time development player outside the squad's top 30 players.

Fellow young guns Oskar Bryant and Jaylyn De Groot have also trained with the top side and will be on show tomorrow.

De Groot in particular has impressed during his extended stint with the NRL side.

With the entire Future Titans program having just completed a 3 month pre-season tomorrow is the chance to put all that hard work to show and for the under 16s it is the first time they will pull on the famous Titans colours.

Elite Player Development Manager, Jamie McCormack, said the games are a great opportunity to reward all the hard work the squad had put into the last three months.

"We are really excited by the group we have coming through and this game allows them to put their hard work to the test, McCormack said."

"These matches give our younger players and most talented players a real physical and competitive challenge against some bigger and older bodies in a lot of cases.

"We were due to play the Newcastle Knights recently but Covid ruined that plan, but to get to play on the Gold Coast at the home of one of our affiliate clubs is a fantastic opportunity."

Entry is free and the Titans encourage all Members and fans to come along and support the day.
