History made, as first ever Titans NRLW team selected

The Gold Coast Titans have named an exciting squad mixed with experience and youth for the Club’s first ever NRLW match.

Hooker Brittany Breayley-Nati will lead the side out for the first time, when the Gold Coast take on the Dragons in Newcastle on Sunday.

Coach Jamie Feeney has named Breayley-Nati’s partner Kimiora in the halves, where she will play alongside former touch football sensation Grace Griffin.

Olympic Gold Medallist Evania Pelite has capped a strong pre-season by winning the fullback jersey, while the flanks will be made up of the experience of representative player Karina Brown and the youth of Jetaya Faifua.

After playing in the NRL All Stars competition, both Jasmine Peters and Tiana Raftstrand-Smith will line up at the Titans inaugural centre pairing.

Feeney: We will be ready

The pack has an Origin flavour to it, with plenty of punch to come from the exciting group of forwards.

The State of Origin player of the year, Tazmin Gray, will be one to watch, as will be Shannon Mato who has already shown her capabilities this year with a strong showing in the All Stars match.

Destiny Brill will play lock, with Georgia Hale to make her impact from the interchange bench. With Breayley-Nati, Brill and Hale, the Titans have three players who will provide plenty of threat around the middle.

After initially retiring from rugby league, Steph Hancock caps her return to the NRLW competition and will play off the bench.

The match will kick off at 11am at McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, with the Titans to play the first three weeks away before a return to Cbus Super Stadium for a local derby clash against the Broncos in Round 4.
