Round 1 Titans team as chosen by the fans

As anticipation builds for the first team release on Tuesday afternoon, fans have had a unique chance to play the role of Titans head coach and pick their 13 to face off against Parramatta on Sunday.

Over 1600 submissions have been received so far with the new Gold Coast team picker, with every entry going in the draw to win a signed 2022 jersey.

Entries close on Sunday, March 13; so there's still plenty of time to submit your starting 13 that you want to see run out in Round 1.

PICK YOUR ROUND 1 TITANS TEAM HERE!

There have been a few spots hotly contested, including who will play on the wing and the battle of the forwards, to which Justin Holbrook spoke about recently.

See below for who the fans want to see in Round 1 for the Titans.

What do you think?

Fullback

With AJ Brimson’s likely move to the No. 6 jersey, it is no surprise Jayden Campbell is leading the voting here.

Wingers

Easily one of the hottest contested positions, fan favourite Greg Marzhew is appearing on a lot of team sheets, while veterans Phil Sami and Corey Thompson are also popular choices.

Young flyer Alofi'ana Khan-Pereira is also polling votes with many keen to see the youngster's speed in the NRL.

Centres

There's no surprises here with the tried and trusted combination of Brian Kelly and Patrick Herbert proving the most popular. Although, Jojo Fifita and Esan Marsters have also been an option for fans after their sensational Broncos trial match appearance.

Five-Eighth

AJ Brimson leads the polling here with the Origin star set to move into the halves, but in a reverse of the fullback spot, fans also think Jayden Campbell could potentially line-up at No. 6 if required.

Halfback

Toby Sexton first, daylight second. No surprises here.

Front Row

There's six players to choose from to fill only two spots... it's been a tough choice for fans.

Origin enforcer Moe Fotuaika and former Roosters hard man Isaac Liu lead the polls at the moment, although there is also a fair sprinkle of interest in Jarrod Wallace, Jaimin Jolliffe, Herman Ese'ese and Sam Lisone to charge from the back fence.

Hooker

Erin Clark is leading the tally after Justin Holbrook confirmed he'll play in Round 1, but there's been plenty of interest for Tanah Boyd as well after his player of the match performance against the Broncos in the trial match.

Aaron Booth has also received a few votes, although hasn't had an opportunity to play for the Titans, nor Burleigh or Tweed yet due to still recovering from shoulder surgery.

Second Row

David Fifita has blown up the team picker with fans wanting him to play on both edges; but there is also plenty of support for Beau Fermor to start after his outstanding end to 2021.

Kevin Proctor is also polling votes quite nicely as is Sam McIntyre, who is another option for the Titans coach.

Lock

Easy decision for fans here... the skipper gets the nod with Tino Fa'asuamaleaui to wear No. 13.

One position the team picker doesn't ask to select is the utility, but from the names suggested across all positions, there would be plenty of fans happy to see the likes of Tanah Boyd, Will Smith or Paul Turner wearing the No. 14.

It's clear the Titans have an incredible depth within the squad and all eyes will be on the first team announcement at 3pm tomorrow (Tuesday).

One thing is for sure for those who miss out... they'll be fighting tooth and nail playing for Burleigh and Tweed in the Hostplus Cup, trying to get in the Titans 17 in what is set to be a genuine contest for spots every week.
