NRL and NRLW sides share special jersey presentation

Last weekend represented a moment in history for the Gold Coast Titans, as both a men's and women's team played on the same day in a double header with the Parramatta Eels.

While the Titans may not have got the points on the field, it was a day that has been years in the making with the strength of the Titans community a driving force behind the club's inception into the NRLW.

With differing schedules the two team's paths don't always cross but the weekend represented a special moment for both sides to come together and present their jerseys ahead of round 3 in the NRLW and round 1 in the NRL.

Titans respective head coaches, Jamie Feeney and Justin Holbrook, along with CEO Steve Mitchell, spoke about the importance the weekend held and the support that they would be showing for each others teams.

"Nights like the one we had are so important to our club and our community." CEO Steve Mitchells said.

"We represent the whole of our community from Logan to Lismore and now we have teams for every person in that catchment to aspire to be a part of.

"Just getting on the field is the beggining, but we want to make them proud with our performances as well."

After travelling down to Sydney on the same flight, the teams then stayed at the same hotel before both taking on the Eels at Commbank Stadium.

Each player presented a jersey to their positional counterpart in a special moment of unity across the club.

The teams will again combine together this weekend for the first home game at Cbus Super Stadium in 2022.

The men will take on the New Zealand Warriors, while the women take on the Brisbane Broncos in what is sure to be the beginning of a fierce rivalry just as it is in the men's.

Tickets are still available and $20 from every ticket sold goes towards the flood relief programs that the Gold Coast Titans and partner, Village Roadshow Theme Parks are supporting. Grab your tickets here.
