Affiliate wrap: Francis continues try scoring ways

Gold Coast Titans rising star Tony Francis has taken the Hostplus Cup by storm, helping Burleigh to their second win of the season in Townsville.

The youngster topped the running metres with 193 in Saturday's game against the Blackhawks, breaking the line on two occasions as well as adding another try to his tally after starting the season with a double last Sunday.

Burleigh remain undefeated and currently lead the Hostplus Cup competition with the Capras after Round 2.

Narrow win for Bears over Blackhawks in Townsville

The Townsville Blackhawks hosted Burleigh Bears for the Round 2 fixture of the Hostplus Cup and it was the Bears who were victorious.

The last time these two sides clashed was in Round 8 last year, where the Bears won in a close match, with a score of 22-18.

The Blackhawks were looking to win in front of their home crowd after suffering a loss last week to Norths Devils, and Burleigh were coming off a win against Wynnum Manly Seagulls. Read full match report here.
