It wasn't a long stint, but Herman Ese'ese brought plenty of energy to his side in his return to the Titans NRL side last night.

In a 23 minute cameo off the bench Ese'ese had 9 carries for 77 metres and bent the Panthers line back on a number of those occasions.

His 30 post-contact metres shows that impact and puts down in the stats column a 12-month determination to return to the NRL and make an impact.

Speaking of his own performance, Ese'ese said he was grateful to be back playing and was proud of the effort his side showed.

"It was not the result that we wanted, but I'm proud of the boys that we stuck in there and just turned up with the right attitude," he said.

"Obviously, I'm really happy and grateful to be back and it's just one of those games, I guess, coming up against a tough, tough team and we will learn from and grow from it."

With Jaimin Jolliffe sidelined for a number of weeks with a calf injury Ese'ese has a chance to cement a spot in Coach Justin Holbrook's front row rotation and although he is excited to be back in the NRL, it is where Herman wants to stay.

"I'm just really grateful that I get to put on this jersey for this great club, and I'm back in the NRL," he said.

"So, hopefully there will be more to come."
