Fresh off his Maccas Man of the Match performance against the Penrith Panthers, Beau Fermor has praised the strength of the competition front runners in their comeback victory on Friday night at Cbus Super Stadium.
"Penrith showed why they are the best in the comp - we had them on the ropes there for a while, but they just stuck at it and made us pay in that five, ten minute period after half time."
While the Panthers left victors on the night, Fermor believes there was plenty to like in a gutsy performance from his side.
"Obviously, I think we showed a lot of resilience there. We were camped down our own end for a long time in that first half and to come back up and score a try was really good and I think we have just got to learn to be able to stay switched on for the whole game."
No stranger to work, the Dalby-native dug deep and presented his case for Origin selection against a blues-heavy Panthers side.
Beau was lethal in attack, challenging the Penrith defensive line several times as he notched up 10 hit ups and 40 post contact metres.
He also made 35 tackles on the left edge, putting in a tradesman-like effort in defense to keep his team in the game.
And while winning games is the ultimate goal, Fermor knows that his consistency in his role will lay a platform for more Titans victories.
"Obviously I'd love to be winning, but if I can keep doing my job for the team and my role, I'll give us a chance to win."
With over 14,000 Gold Coast fans in attendance for the early Friday game, Beau was full of praise for the high-energy atmosphere and support his team received from the Titans Legion.
"The stadium was pretty full so to to be able to come home and play in front of all our members and fans and our families is something we love and we always try and play really well here.
We're disappointed we didn't get the result for the fans but hopefully they keep turning up and we'll get them the result they deserve."
