Affiliate wrap: Bears bow out but Titans set to star in QRLW decider

There may be no formal representation of the Gold Coast in next week's BMD Premiership decider, but a number of Titans are set to run out in the clash at Moreton Daily Stadium.

The Burleigh Bears were hoping to defend their Queensland women's title up against the North Queensland Gold Stars in Sunday's semi-final at Pizzey Park but fell short with the regional Queensland club getting a 30-16 win.

But despite bowing out ahead of the big dance, four of the Titans' NRLW stars in the past season just gone are set to take the field next Saturday in Redcliffe.

Rookie of the year Destiny Brill was one of the quartet who starred, dominating at lock in the strong victory, as did NRLW Coaches Award winner April Ngatupuna, who was strong with two big stints in the front row wearing Gold Stars colours.

Fellow North Queenslanders Jasmine Peters and Shaniah Power were also among the action, with Lauren Moss withdrawn late.

They'll face the Central Queensland Capras in the BMD Premiership grand final at 2pm Saturday, June 4 at Moreton Daily Stadium, Redcliffe.

There was only one fixture in the Hostplus Cup at the weekend with both Burleigh and Tweed enjoying a bye. Next week, the Bears will face Sunshine Coast whilst Tweed travel to Ipswich to meet the Jets.
