Generation next of NRLW on show Thursday night

On Thursday night under the bright lights of Cbus Super Stadium a group of young women will run onto the stadium of their heroes.

Famous rugby league schools Keebra Park and Marsden will do battle in the curtain raiser to the Titans and Cowboys NRL match, but it is the girls who will take centre stage in the Surfside Buslines Titans Schools League competition this time.

Not long ago this would be the end of the journey for young Gold Coast girls, but with the growth of the NRLW and the introduction of the Titans side in 2022, these dreams can now become a reality.

The Titans Schools League is the premier female rugby league school competition and has seen incredible growth in recent years - in large part to the growth of the female game.

For those on the pitch come Thursday night they only have to look to new Titan, Hailee-Jay Maunsell for inspiration.

The young flyer was at Keebra Park playing in the same competition not long ago and provides a real example for the next crop of female stars coming through.

Making her NRLW debut in round three of the competition, Maunsell went on to play four games and score two tries in her first season in the top grade.

If you want to see some (likely) future Titans in action, make sure you get to Cbus Super Stadium to see two of the competitions best sides go head to head on Thursday night.
