Titans Mid-Season Stat Leaders

Stats aren't everything on the footy field, but they paint an interesting picture of who is leading the team around the park.

From tackle counts to tackle busts, linebreaks to offloads, we've got some players putting up serious numbers in the first 14 rounds. 

So who are the metre eaters and work horses of the Titans squad? Find out below as we lift the lid on the stat kings of '22!

Tries

Greg Marzhew - 5

Phil Sami - 5

Brian Kelly - 4

Tied in the lead with 5 tries a piece, Greg Marzhew and Phil Sami have been prolific on the wings this season. Brian Kelly trails closely with 4, while a string of players sit on 3 tries this season. 

Tackle Breaks

Greg Marzhew - 74

Jayden Campbell - 37

AJ Brimson - 32

No player in the game is averaging more tackle breaks a game than Titans winger Greg Marzhew. Greggy is averaging 6.6 tackle breaks a game, and his 74 tackle breaks are behind just one player, James Tedesco, who has played 3 more games this year. 

Running Metres

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui - 1964m

Moeaki Fotuaiki - 1583m

Greg Marzhew -  1576m

Tino continues to lead from the front in his first year as captain, carrying the ball for just shy of 2000 metres in the opening 14 rounds. Averaging 149m a game, Fa'asuamaleaui ran a game high 271m in round 12 against the Broncos, falling short of the Titans record by just 8 metres!

Post Contact Metres

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui - 862m

Moeaki Fotuaiki - 634m

Greg Marzhew -  592m

In line with the running metres, Tino, Moe and Greg lead the post contact count for the side this season. Tino again leads the way by a whopping 228m, and across the NRL only 3 men have run more post contact metres than Tino this season. 

Linebreaks

David Fifita - 7

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui - 6

Jamayne Isaako & Phil Sami - 4

Despite injury hampering his 2022 season, David Fifita has proved prolific in his 9 games notching up 7 linebreaks and 5 line break assists. Poised to return to the team in the coming weeks, expect this number to increase in the backend of the season. 

Tackles

Erin Clark - 453

Beau Fermor - 422

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui - 401

A constant in the Titans middle defense, Titans hooker Erin Clark has notched up 453 tackles this season averaging 33 per game. Beau Fermor follows with 422 tackles on the left edge, a solid workload when combined with his 106 running metre average per game. 

Kick Return Metres

Jayden Campbell - 377m

Jamayne Isaako - 329m

Moeaki Fotuaika - 237m

Titans fullback Jayden Campbell has been quite the handful returning the ball this season, notching up 377 kick return metres in his 7 games. Campbell averages 56 kick return metres a game, putting him in the top 5 of the NRL among the games most in-form backs. 

Trailing Campbell is Jamayne Isaako who has moved between the wing and fullback, and Moeaki Fotuaika who has been prolific with 237m returning the kick off. 

Offloads

Brian Kelly - 15

Jarrod Wallace - 12

David Fifita - 12

Titans centre Brian Kelly leads the offload count, enabling second phase play 15 times this season. The 2020 Paul Broughton Medalist has been dangerous with ball in hand this year, scoring 4 tries with 24 tackle breaks to add to his stats. Following closely behind are Jarrod Wallace and David Fifita, with both forwards offloading 12 times this season.

Support Play

Toby Sexton - 80

Beau Fermor - 76

AJ Brimson - 66

Titans starting halves pairing Toby Sexton and AJ Brimson have been in support a combined 146 times so far this season, providing offload options and line support more than 10 times per game. Beau Fermor has also been busy on the left edge, notching up 76 support plays in 2022. 

Decoy Runs

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui - 80

Isaac Liu - 74

Beau Fermor - 69

For every great run there is a decoy who stole a defender's attention. Titans Captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui has run decoy 80 times in the opening 14 rounds, with new signing Isaac Liu close behind on 74. Beau Fermor rounds out the top 3 in decoy runs with 69, adding to his important support play stats.
