Young Fifita's enthusiastic selection call only four games in

Excitement machine Jojo Fifita has made a big impact since debuting for the Titans four weeks ago.

Averaging over 120 metres a game, the 19-year-old scored his maiden try in Round 19 and has average two tackle breaks a game since lighting up Cbus Super Stadium for the first time last month.

Beginning his fledgling NRL career on the wing, the flyer has flourished in his role on the flank for the Titans, although the rugby-convert is bold on his ideal position into the future.

"I'd like to play centre," Fifita declared.

But just grateful for the opportunity to play first grade, the Gold Coast junior has enjoyed learning both positions and wants to continue to grow as a regular NRL starter, playing in any position needed for the team.

"This year, I think I'm just trying to get confident playing on the wing, but just having to learn both positions helps along the way because it gives me different skills," he said.

"It's been all about just building confidence and trying to get used to it so I can play well for the rest of the season."

Jojo Fifita's first NRL try

Whilst it's been a tough arena to play his first four games in, Fifita has enjoyed his top grade experience after a stellar beginning of the year for the Tweed Seagulls, now wanting to work hard on his bond with the rest of his teammates to help crack the string of loses.

"It's going pretty good. I know we're not getting the results we wanted but the boys are definitely connecting together and gelling together a bit more," Fifita said.

"I think we're doing a lot of more team stuff, just trying to bond with each other and I think it's helping on the field. We're trying to work for each other.

"It's just some errors and crucial moments that's costing us at the moment."

Facing off against the Sea Eagles this Sunday at home, it will be an extra special occasion for the club with plenty of extra motivation, with the team involved in the annual Down Syndrome Queensland run-out - an initiative that has been running since 2014.

Participant Kyan, who spent time with Fifita and fellow teammate Brian Kelly at training on Tuesday - was wrapped when the Titans young gun presented him with his run out shirt, which he will wear when he runs out holding the speedster's hand on Sunday.

"It's pretty important [to have a partnership with Down Syndrome Queensland]," Fifita said.

"They were just down to training with Brian and me are we were running around with them and passing the ball.

"This weekend, I'll be running out with Kyan holding my hand and then all the other boys will have a little one with them too.

"I reckon it's a little bit of extra motivation for us was. We're trying to play for different types of people.

"Everyone is one community and we're trying to play for them and give it the best we've got."
